ONG - FACT (Fuels from Agriculture in Communal Technology)

FACT Foundation wishes to make a contribution to income generation, social development and the improvement of quality of life among rural communities in developing countries. Those who must benefit are: the local people: small farmers, women and children. FACT´s mission is to assist local organisations and companies with accurate information, expertise and know-how for the production, use and commercialization of biofuels.

FACT initiates demonstration projects in several countries and executes a comprehensive research programme. FACT interacts closely with counterparts in developing countries to obtain valuable information and lessons-learned. The focus is currently on Jatropha, which is an important oil-containing plant suitable for producing biodiesel and pure plant oil. FACT Foundation strives at becoming the leading Knowledge Centre for the production, use and commercialisation of Jatropha and other oil crops.

FACT will set up information and support services for these intermediaries, such as an international network, local helpdesks, support for presentations at national and international forums, the website, downloadable instruction movies and manuals, and the FACT newsletter. The field projects will generate a flow of information to complement the ongoing work by FACT, its partners and the global biofuel community.
